Well, the Obama juggurnaut rolls on and the Hillary Express is foundering on the shoals of it's own
mismanagement and Billary narcissism. What can we make of this...why is this happening?
Quite simply, blacks don't need "Liberal white permission" anymore.
[ to save us and the world...after you read this page.]
As we said in the as long as the Democrats were run by the status quo, i.e. liberal guilt-ridden white guys,
all was well in the progressive socialist utopia. They handed out the goodies to the blacks, hispanics, gays and the women, like some benevolent
plantation master. In return, these victim identity groups were supposed to remain in their places, vote in some creepy zombie-like groupthink bloc for the Democrat Party, occasionally suggesting policy to the
powers that be from some liberal think tank or lobbyist group, and getting rewarded with the occasional pandering piece of indentity legislation and a house or senate seat.
Jonah Goldberg says it best in his excellent new book entitled 'Liberal Facism':
Liberals have fallen in love with the idea behind the racial welfare state. They've absorbed the Marxist and fascist
conception of "the system" as racist and corrupt and therefore in constant need of state intervention. In particlular, they've convinced themselves that support for such programs
is proof of their own moral worth. Blacks were "grateful" to white liberals; therefore liberals aren't racist...Whites who oppose the racial spoils system are racists. Blacks
who oppose it are self-hating race traitors.
Maureen Dowd [NY Times columnist] writes that it is "impossible not to be disgusted" with blacks such as Clarence Thomas.
According to Dowd, the Supreme Court justice hates himself for his "own great historic ingratitude" to white liberals...
It must be puzzling and maddening to the Hillary campaign that blacks are breaking 80-90% in favor of Obama in the Democrat
primaries. Oh the ingtratitude of these "uppity" blacks. Wasn't Bill the first "black" president? Didn't he do stuff for them and all the other victimized minorities...like give them inconsequential
cabinet positions. Well, Madeliene Albright was Secretary of State but she screwed that up so badly it just goes to show that maybe it's a man's world after all.
(We at the Neville Awards are not that nuts about Condoleeza Rice either)
So much for 50 years of social engineering. Blacks vote for the black candidate because he's black and the women vote for the woman candidate because she's a woman and the guilt-ridden
well-to-do Northeastern white metrosexuals vote black because it helps their self-esteem.
So let's take our first critical look at Obama and explain the swooning, the cheering, and the uncritical unconditional support? We know he gives a great speech replete with soaring
empty rhetoric ("yes we can...we can change the world....we are the ones we have been waiting for") and, if you listen carefully enough, a comforting Martin Luther King-style cadence. It allows the listener to ignore the
substance or lack thereof. At the end of the speech you may feel great but wonder "what did he just say?". You just might hate yourself in the morning for buying into it.
Consider this excerpt from Dan Henninger's article in the www.wsjonline.com:
Strip away the new coat of paint from the Obama message and what you find is not only familiar. It's a downer.
Up to now, the force of Sen. Obama's physical presentation has so dazzled audiences that it has been hard to focus on precisely what he is saying. "Yes, we can! Yes, we can!" Can what?
Listen closely to that Tuesday night Wisconsin speech. Unhinge yourself from the mesmerizing voice. What one hears is a message that is largely negative, illustrated with anecdotes of unremitting bleakness. Heavy with class warfare, it is a speech that could have been delivered by a Democrat in 1968, or even 1928.
Here is the edited version, stripped of the flying surfboard:
"Our road will not be easy . . . the cynics. . . where lobbyists write check after check and Exxon turns record profits . . . That's what happens when lobbyists set the agenda. . . It's a game where trade deals like Nafta ship jobs overseas and force parents to compete with their teenagers to work for minimum wage at Wal-Mart . . . It's a game . . . CEO bonuses . . . while another mother goes without health care for her sick child . . . We can't keep driving a wider and wider gap between the few who are rich and the rest who struggle to keep pace . . . even if they're not rich . . ."
Here's his America: "lies awake at night wondering how he's going to pay the bills . . . she works the night shift after a full day of college and still can't afford health care for a sister who's ill . . . the senior I met who lost his pension when the company he gave his life to went bankrupt . . . the teacher who works at Dunkin' Donuts after school just to make ends meet . . . I was not born into money or status . . . I've fought to bring jobs to the jobless in the shadow of a shuttered steel plant . . . to make sure people weren't denied their rights because of what they looked like or where they came from . . . Now we carry our message to farms and factories."
It ends: "We can cast off our doubts and fears and cynicism because our dream will not be deferred; our future will not be denied; and our time for change has come."
Unease about the economy is real, but Sen. Obama is selling more than that. He is selling deep grievance over the structure of American society. That's the same message as John Edwards, or Dennis Kucinich for that matter. Hillary Clinton's mistake may have been to think this is 2008, not 1938, with the solution lying in leveraging votes in a Democratic Congress. Instead of Hillary's wonkish geniuses, Barack is selling the revolution -- change "from the bottom up."
"Sez" Lawrence Kudlow:
Mr. Obama would like voters to believe that he's the second coming of JFK. But with his unbelievable spending and new government-agency proposals he's looking more and more like Jimmy Carter. His is a "Grow the Government Bureaucracy Plan," and it's totally at odds with investment and business. .
In other words, if this socialist pablum were coming from a white liberal no one would care.
What can we expect from an Obama presidency? Although Obama has carefully avoided talking specifics,
he has commented on various issues and these remarks show the direction in which he would lead
the country. We can also look at what those
advising him and working for his election believe. It is unlikely someone seeking to become president of our country
would surround himself with people who do not reflect his beliefs.
Senator Obama has introduced a bill (the ‘Global Poverty Act’) that calls for the United States to single-handedly extinguish ‘global poverty’.
A Senate committee approved the bill and sent it to full Senate. The Global Poverty Act
would appropriate $850 billion, over and above what the US now spends, to eliminate poverty in the world;
an amount that represents 0.7% of our country’s gross national product.
Assuming a total population of 300 million, this works out to cost each man,
woman and child in our country $2,833.
The Global Poverty Act also requires the president not only to accomplish that goal but, "not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this act," to submit a report on "the contributions provided by the United States" toward poverty reduction.
Here's some more from the Obama Playbook:
Like all liberals he seems to be imbued with a Messiah complex.
- He said he would support federal legislation based on a California law that would facilitate immediate tracing of bullets used in crime by requiring stamping each bullet with a serial number.
- He supports the District of Columbia’s ban on handguns.
- He blames problems with the economy on a "failure of leadership in Washington" that includes decisions by the Bush administration on taxes and the Clinton administration on trade.
- He wants to remove American troops from Iraq immediately.
- He wants to lead the world in combating man-made global warming.
- He wants universal healthcare (for all people in the country, including illegal immigrants).
- He wants to give social security benefits to illegal immigrants using false social security numbers.
There is a flag featuring Che Guevara, the South American revolutionary who became Fidel
Castro's executioner after the communist takeover in Cuba, in Obama’s campaign office.
Investor’s Business Daily asks the (rhetorical) question in regard to his patriotism-
"How is it a front-runner for the highest office in the land can reject an American
flag on his lapel but permit the display of a huge Cuban flag at his Houston campaign office,
emblazoned with a mass murderer's mug?"
Contrast this with Obama’s failure to salute the
flag with his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance to the country he wants
to preside over as president, and his ostentatious refusal to wear a U.S. flag in his lapel.
Obama has also dismissed his Senate colleagues who wear lapel flags as 'hypocrites.'
